At HLR Publishing, we believe that music should be accessible to everyone. We strive to empower individuals through the joy of music, while creating a welcoming and inclusive community where students can learn and grow in a supportive environment.
We offer a variety of programs, including private lessons, group classes, and workshops. All which are tailored for students with developmental disabilities, focusing on accessibility, creativity, and emotional expression. Courses are designed to be inclusive, flexible, and adaptable to different learning styles and abilities.
Harold Rosemond is an experienced and accomplished musician who is passionate about teaching music to the developmentally disabled community. He brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to students and works closely with each individual to help them achieve their goals.
No experience needed— just a willingness to explore, create, and have fun!
This beginner-friendly class invites young adults to explore the basics of writing their own music. Using simple tools, sounds, and activities, students will learn how to create melodies, rhythms, and musical patterns. With visual aids, hands-on instruments, and step-by-step guidance, everyone will have the chance to express themselves and build original music in a fun, supportive environment.
A fun introduction to film scoring. Film scoring is the process of creating music to accompany movies, helping to express emotions, set the mood, and support the story. It helps make the movie more exciting, happy, scary, or sad. In this class we will develop an understanding of film scoring and score a short movie.
In this fun and hands-on class, students will explore how music brings video games to life! Using simple tools and guided activities, they’ll learn to create sounds and songs for different game moments—like battles, adventures, or menu screens. Students will use apps, instruments, and teamwork to build their own game music, express creativity, and enjoy making sounds that tell a story.
This fun and supportive class helps students explore their voices through singing, breathing, and rhythm games. We use simple songs, vocal warm-ups, and music activities to build confidence, improve communication, and enjoy making music together. No experience needed—just a love for singing!

It simplifies digital tools like apps and software that simulate real instruments, allowing users to create sounds with touchscreens, buttons, or adaptive devices. The focus is on hands-on learning, encouraging creativity, motor skills, and engagement through easy-to-use interfaces that make music-making inclusive and enjoyable.
This creative and engaging class helps individuals express themselves through music. Students will learn how to write simple lyrics, create melodies, and build songs using easy tools and group support. With fun activities, visual aids, and teamwork, each student gets to share their voice, tell their story, and enjoy the joy of making music.

This unique class blends music with artful sensory experiences to spark creativity and joy. Each session offers a new hands-on project—like painting to music, building simple instruments, or exploring sounds with textures and colors. Students will engage all their senses while expressing themselves through music and art in a calm, supportive environment.
The use of music-based activities outside of formal clinical settings to support well-being, social interaction, and cognitive development. While it does not involve certified music therapists or follow a treatment protocol, it can still offer therapeutic benefits. Family-based sessions available to strengthen bonds.
This creative and sensory-friendly class introduces students to the world of sound effects and background audio used in movies, games, and videos. Students will explore how everyday objects make exciting sounds—like footsteps, rain, or doors. Through fun, hands-on activities, they’ll learn how sound brings stories to life and get to make their own audio scenes in a safe, supportive space.
